Job summary

R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. in Washington, IL is seeking an Inside Sales Representative for our lumberyard showroom.

You will quote and sell in person, by phone, and by email, and support merchandising and special orders. This on-site, full-time role reports to the Retail Manager and involves assisting contractors and homeowners with product selection, taking accurate orders, running the register, and maintaining a ready sales floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to listen to customers and contractors.
• Comfort with computers, math, and organized, accurate work.
• Ability to learn BisTrack (POS), Microsoft Word and Excel, and related software.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and Missouri Class E license.

Responsibilities

• Help customers and contractors with product selection, pricing, quotes, orders, deliveries, and installations.
• Follow up on orders and resolve service issues; involve the Retail or General Manager when needed.
• Build relationships with walk-in and contractor customers.
• Support Outside Sales with order questions, product information, and pricing.
• Learn estimating and material takeoffs for construction projects.
• Grow product knowledge across residential, rural, industrial, and commercial building materials.
