Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Charleston, SC to build and maintain relationships with local contractors and builders, selling our full line of building materials and installed services.

You will travel to job sites, prepare estimates, read blueprints, manage accounts, and drive growth through proactive communication and strategic follow-through.

This is a commission-based role with no cap, offering room for growth within a multi-billion-dollar company.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales
• Knowledge of home building basics
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists
• Ability to work independently
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

• Sell full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers
• Manage post-sale relationships and project execution
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain schedules
• Record and update customer information and trends
