Job summary

Carter Lumber is hiring an Outside Sales Representative in the Charleston area to build and sustain relationships with contractors, builders and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, visit job sites, and manage each project from sale to completion.

You’ll earn salary plus commission with unlimited earning potential. Expect to work with multiple departments, support growth within a family-owned, multi-brand company and leverage a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Experience in sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts monthly/quarterly.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell our full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders and remodelers.
• Find and complete sales; manage relationships after a job is sold.
• Visit job sites as needed and maintain schedules.
• Communicate effectively to close deals and follow through on commitments.
• Track customer product usage and trends.
