Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a full-time outside sales Account Manager to build repeat business and open new accounts within an existing territory.

You will lead sales and service activities, identify product applications, prepare quotations, and train customers while reporting to the General Manager.

Qualifications

• 1+ year outside sales experience or 2+ years inside sales/customer service in industrial distribution
• Ability to develop new business and maintain repeat customers
• Mechanical aptitude and self-starter attitude
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record (MVR)

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales and profit goals by developing and retaining existing customers and by opening new business
• Conduct sales and service activities, develop relationships, identify product applications, and introduce new products
• Prepare quotations and proposals, follow up, negotiate terms, and close transactions
• Organize and conduct training sessions for customers
• Survey market and competitive conditions
• Complete reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads, and related matters
• Monitor customer complaints and follow up on orders, including emergency calls as needed
