Job summary

Phipps Neighborhoods, the social service affiliate of Phipps Houses, seeks an Outreach Manager to lead workforce outreach efforts in the South Bronx. You will supervise the Outreach Specialist, manage a range of outreach initiatives, and coordinate with Case Management, Employer Engagement, and Facilitator units to meet enrollment goals.

The role focuses on developing strategic outreach plans, building partnerships, and guiding programs to better serve youth and families while advancing agency

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED with at least three years of experience working with youth and young adults in workforce, community and school-based settings.
• Bachelor’s Degree or college credits strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, public speaking and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; handle confidential matters tactfully.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the annual outreach and recruitment strategy for all Workforce programs.
• Supervise the outreach team and delegate assignments while providing guidance.
• Establish and maintain partnerships to support enrollment goals and external referrals.
• Plan and implement community events and outreach at fairs, health fairs, youth fairs, and school open houses.
• Ensure outreach activities follow best practices and provide guidance to community members.
• Maintain outreach calendar and ensure materials are available for distribution.
• Manage outreach database and analyze effectiveness of outreach efforts.
• Maintain inventory of outreach supplies and assist with ordering.
• Collaborate across Case Management, Employer Engagement and Facilitator units.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Managing Director of Workforce Sectoral programs position, the Outreach Manager is responsible for supporting the Workforce Department Sectoral programs in achieving outreach and enrollment goals for all programs including CNH (Track 1 & 2), CNBS, CWE (JtBo). The Outreach Manager will supervise the Outreach Specialist and manage a broad range of outreach initiatives and activities.

Salary range for this role will be $45,000 to $50,000 based on education, training and experience.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the annual outreach and recruitment strategy for all programs across the Workforce department that advances agency priorities and promotes the brand of the Phipps Neighborhoods sectoral based programs.
• Supervise the outreach team; delegate assignments, offer guidance and support.
• Establish and maintain partnerships that support enrollment goals and foster relationships for external referrals.
• Plan and implement community events hosted by Phipps Neighborhoods, and also conduct outreach at such as street fairs, health fairs, youth fairs, public school open houses and other public events.
• Help ensure that Phipps Neighborhoods programs utilize best practices when conducting outreach activities and information sessions, including serving as a resource and sounding board for community members, providing guidance and feedback, and developing an integrated outreach strategy.
• Maintain a calendar of outreach dates/times/locations, and ensure that employees conducting outreach have appropriate materials for distribution to the public
• Manage the outreach database, track and analyze the effectiveness of your outreach
• Maintain inventory of outreach supplies and equipment; distributes supplies and equipment, assists with ordering supplies and equipment for outreach
• Work cross functionally, particularly with the, Case Management, Employer Engagement and Facilitator units.
• Perform any and all tasks deemed necessary by supervisor

Qualifications

Minimum of High School Diploma or GED with at least three years of demonstrated experience working with youth and young adults in workforce, community and school-based settings. Bachelor’s Degree or College credits strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal, public speaking and relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders including program participants, staff, funders and program partners. Strong critical thinking, analytical, and technical problem-solving skills are required. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Self-directed and able to take initiative. Ability to handle matters of confidentiality with utmost tact and diplomacy.

Physical Demands

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as outreach tables, chairs and boxes of outreach materials. Employee will occasionally be required to attend outdoor events.
