Job summary

Ferry County Public Hospital District is seeking an outpatient registrar to support daily operations in the outpatient services department. You will register patients, verify demographics and insurance, schedule appointments, handle EMR documentation, and assist with billing questions at the front desk.

The role requires the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment, strong communication, and experience with EMR systems. Union, 1.0 FTE, Monday–Friday schedule, on-site in Vermont.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a medical front office or therapy clinic is preferred.
• Strong understanding of insurance authorization processes.
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and scanning workflows.
• Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Register patients at arrival; verify demographics and insurance.
• Schedule appointments and manage cancellations/no-shows.
• Operate front desk receptionist duties and assist with billing questions.
• Scan documents into the EMR promptly.
• Prepare medical charts and records for referrals; provide records.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Answer phones; direct inquiries; maintain professional communication.
• Handle cash drawer and deposits; balance finances.
• Maintain office supplies and administrative tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and organizational policies.
