Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, TX, is seeking an RN to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care within an interdisciplinary team.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, plan and implement individualized care, and participate in patient safety initiatives in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role requires a BSN, TX RN license, CPR certification, and at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• At least 1 year of RN experience upon hire.
• Registered Nurse licensed in TX upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) required within 14 days of hire.
• Demonstrated competence in RN performance expectations or meets experience requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: admission and ongoing assessment; provide nursing care meeting physical, psychological and spiritual needs; notify doctor of changes.
• Planning: design, direct, evaluate and document care plan; provide family teaching; coordinate discharge planning with other disciplines.
• Implementation: prepare patients for treatments, surgeries and studies; report changes to Charge Nurse/Physician; follow safety and medication protocols.
• Evaluation: reassess patients after interventions; notify physician to adjust care as needed; adapt care to evolving patient needs.
• Report Skills: provide bedside shift reports with family participation and ensure continuity of care.
• Environment & Patient Safety: maintain safe environment; remove used equipment and maintain quality and safety standards.
