Job summary

Banner Health's Outpatient Observation Unit in Mesa, AZ is seeking a registered nurse to assess, plan, and deliver care for short-stay patients admitted through the Emergency Department.

You will work three 12-hour day shifts, with a 5:1 patient ratio, supported by patient care techs, and receive shift differentials; you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
• Formulates a plan of care with patient/family and multidisciplinary team.
• Implements and coordinates the plan of care with supervision and delegation as needed.
• Evaluates patient progress and revises the plan of care as required.
• Documents assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
