Job summary

Banner Health in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit. The unit fills a universal need for patients not requiring inpatient admission, with a 70-bed capacity (22 Tele / 20 Med/Surg) and a team-based environment.

The position is full-time, day shift with three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, weekend and holiday rotation, and self-scheduling tools to cover shifts.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred; one year in Banner Registry and Travel roles if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, and discharge planning needs.
• Plan and coordinate care, including discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team.
• Implement the plan of care and supervise activities of the health care team.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust care as needed; communicate status to care team.
• Document assessment, plan, implementation and patient response in the chart.
