Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry level Outpatient RN CAP 1 to begin a career in the Clinical Advancement Program. This role provides and coordinates clinically competent care for an assigned patient group during hemodialysis, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

You will collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians, educate patients and families, document care, and participate in quality improvement activities within a health care team.

Qualifications

• RN entry level with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience is preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure and CPR BLS certification.
• Must meet practice requirements in the state employed.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent care for assigned patients during hemodialysis.
• Document patient data and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families about care and treatment options.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document effectiveness.
• Lead and train staff as assigned and participate in training of new staff.
• Ensure proper specimen collection and handling and reschedule missed collections.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to update care plans.
