Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry level registered nurse (Outpatient RN CAP 1) to join the Clinical Advancement Program, providing assessment, planning and evaluation for an assigned patient group. You will work with RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians, coordinate care during hemodialysis, and document medical records under supervision.

Requirements: graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, current state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and CAP requirements to advance; 9 months

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current state licensure.
  • Current or successful CPR/BLS Certification.
  • Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment.
  • Entry level RN with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
  • Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs essential functions under supervision and guidance of Nurse leaders.
  • Collects and analyzes patient data during hemodialysis and documents in medical records.
  • Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and families.
  • Delivers safe, effective hemodialysis care in collaboration with direct care staff.
  • Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification and effectiveness.
  • Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
  • Acts as a resource for the healthcare team and supports staff training.
  • Ensures proper lab collection, processing and reporting.
