Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 role within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

You will collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians, contributing to ES KD patient care, teaching, leadership, and quality improvements within the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure.
• CPR/BLS Certification.
• Minimum 9 months experience as a RN; 3 months in chronic/acute hemodialysis as RN.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision and guidance of the Supervisor, Clinical Educator, or team lead.
• Collects and analyzes patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis; adjusts care plans and documents in medical records.
• Provides patient and family education and supports learning needs.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy with care team collaboration.
• Administers medications per protocol and documents efficacy.
• Participates in emergency response, staff training, and orientation of new staff.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing, and reporting; coordinates with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Explains transplant and treatment modality options to patients.
