Job summary

Spencer Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in Spencer, MA, part of Acadia Healthcare, is hiring a Substance Use Counselor. The role focuses on high-quality individual and group counseling for opioid use disorder, with MAT integration and collaborative care across a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent credentialing, experience in addiction treatment, and knowledge of CBT/MI relapse prevention.

Qualifications

• Requires Master’s Degree or equivalent credentials (CAC/CAS/CADC/CRC/LADC I/II, LICSW/LCSW, LMHC/LMFT) or Bachelor’s with credentialing path.
• Degree must be in psychology, social work, or related health services field.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality individual and group counseling sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure documentation of patient care and incidents is timely and clear.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate patient needs and arrange referrals as needed.
• May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Perform case management to ensure individualized care.
