Job summary

Waterville Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), part of Acadia Healthcare, seeks a Substance Use Counselor to support opioid use disorder recovery. The role emphasizes individual and group counseling, documentation, and care planning in a fast-paced outpatient MAT setting.

The position requires Maine CADC or LADC; CCS may be considered. Hours include early morning shifts with opportunities for growth within Acadia’s network.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Prefer bachelor's or master’s in social/health services.
• Degree from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality counseling in individual and group sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure timely, clear documentation of patient care and incidents.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for assigned patients.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Assess needs and refer to other programs as needed.
• May plan for aftercare; provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Perform case management for patients and liaise with referrals.
