Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation during dialysis.

You will educate patients and families, collaborate with RNs/LVNs/PCTs, and participate in quality improvement activities to enhance outcomes and operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the relevant state.
• CPR/BLS Certification current or in progress.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment.
• Entry level RN with less than 2 years nephrology nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential functions under supervision and with guidance from Clinical Educator or RN leadership.
• Collect and analyze patient data during pre-, intra-, and post-hemodialysis and document in medical records.
• Educate patients and families on basic care and learning needs.
• Deliver safe, effective hemodialysis care with direct and ancillary staff.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document effectiveness.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Act as a resource to the health care team and participate in staff training.
• Ensure proper laboratory collection, processing, and shipping; reschedule missed collections.
• Document outcomes and update nursing assessment and care plan with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Inform patients about transplant and treatment modality options.
