Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level registered nurse for the Outpatient CAP. You will assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for dialysis patients, with delegation to staff as needed.

The role involves data collection, education, and collaboration with the health care team to ensure high-quality outcomes. You will participate in CAP advancement; comfort with lab procedures and emergency response; and a commitment to ongoing professional development within a leading nephrology care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under supervision with guidance from educator or RN leadership.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during dialysis and updates the plan of care.
• Educates patients and families on care processes and treatment.
• Coordinates daily delivery of safe hemodialysis therapy for assigned patients.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource and trains other staff as assigned.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing, and handling.
• Documents outcomes and updates nursing assessments with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides information about transplant and treatment modality options.
• Completes CAP education requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
