Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 designation within the Clinical Advancement Program. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients, and may delegate tasks to RNs, LVN/LPNs and patient care techs.

As a member of the ESKD health care team, you will participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and facility

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.
• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential nursing duties under supervision and guidance.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during hemodialysis and adjusts care plan as needed.
• Educates patients and families on care and treatment options.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy.
• Administers medications per protocol and documents effectiveness.
• Participates in staff training and orientation.
• Ensures proper lab collection and processing; reschedules missed specimens.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to update the care plan.
• Explains transplant and treatment modality options to patients.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
