Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in New Jersey seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP. You will coordinate and deliver dialysis care, assess patients, plan interventions, and participate in the care team to improve outcomes.

The role requires RN licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and basic nephrology knowledge. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team in a patient-focused environment and support CAP progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience (entry level CAP suggests building).
• Nephrology or dialysis experience preferred.
• Current state RN licensure and CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform all essential functions under supervision and with guidance from the Supervisor, Clinical Educator, or in collaboration with other RNs.
• Conduct ongoing data collection and analysis of patient data during dialysis and document in the medical record; adjust the treatment plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and postoperative instructions.
• Direct and provide safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with staff.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures as required.
• Serve as a resource for the health care team and participate in staff training and orientation.
• Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures and reschedule missed collections.
• Document nursing assessments and update the plan of care with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Inform patients about transplant and treatment modality options.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance within the program.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
