Job summary

Fresenius Kidney Care in Jersey City, NJ seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse CAP 1 to join the outpatient team. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care, perform assessments, plan interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes in the dialysis setting.

Under supervision, you will educate patients and families, collaborate with RNs, LVNs/LPNs and technicians, and support quality improvement activities while meeting CAP requirements to advance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing data collection and analysis of patient data for hemodialysis treatment and documents in the patient medical record.
• Assesses, collaborates, and documents patient/family education needs.
• Directs and provides safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients in collaboration with care staff.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource for health care team and participates in staff training.
• Ensures correct laboratory collection and processing procedures are followed.
