Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level registered nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP1 track as part of the Clinical Advancement Program. The role focuses on coordinating and delivering comprehensive hemodialysis care and collaborating with RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and technicians.

The position emphasizes patient assessment, plan of care, education, and quality improvement within a busy kidney care setting. Growth through CAP advancement is supported with supervision and training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Collects and analyzes patient data pre – during – post hemodialysis treatment and documents in the patient record; adjusts the plan as needed.
• Educates patients and families about learning needs and care.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource and participates in training of new staff.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing and shipping procedures.
