Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level registered nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program in Texas. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis, with supervision and collaboration from the care team.

The role includes patient education, medication administration, emergency response readiness, and participation in quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• RN with less than 2 years in nephrology nursing.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision and with guidance from the Clinical Educator/Preceptor.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during dialysis and updates care plan.
• Educates patients and families on learning needs.
• Delivers safe hemodialysis therapy with staff collaboration.
• Administers medications as prescribed per algorithm and documents.
• Initiates emergency response measures.
• Participates in staff training and new hire orientation.
• Ensures proper collection and shipment of lab specimens.
• Documents nursing assessment and care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Discusses transplant options with patients.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
