Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Texas is hiring an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 program. You will assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for an assigned group of dialysis patients, coordinating with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians.

As part of the ESKD health care team, you will educate patients and families, document care, administer prescribed medications, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• RN with at least 9 months of RN experience, preferably in nephrology or dialysis.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes patient data during hemodialysis and documents in the medical record.
• Educates patients and families about care plans and dialysis options.
• Administers medications as prescribed or via approved algorithms.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Acts as a resource and assists with staff training.
• Ensures correct lab collection and processing; reschedules missed labs.
• Documents nursing assessments and updates care plans in collaboration with the care team.
• Discusses transplant options with patients where appropriate.
