Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 track within the Clinical Advancement Program. You will provide and coordinate compassionate, evidence-based care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of treatment plans.

As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease care team, you will participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities while collaborating with RNs,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Conduct ongoing collection and analysis of patient data during pre-, during-, and post-hemodialysis treatment and document in the patient record.
• Educate patients and family on learning needs and care plans.
• Direct and coordinate daily delivery of safe hemodialysis therapy with staff and ancillary personnel.
• Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms and document the rationale and effects.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures when needed.
• Serve as a resource for the health care team and contribute to staff training and orientation.
• Ensure proper laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures and reschedule missed collections.
• Document outcomes and update nursing assessment and care plans with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Educate patients about transplant and treatment modality options.
