Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 path, focusing on assessment, planning, and coordination of nephrology care for dialysis patients. You will collaborate with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians to deliver high-quality care.

You will participate in education, decision-making, and quality improvement as part of the ESKD care team. CAP requirements must be completed to advance in the program and you may travel to training sites as needed.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre – during – post hemodialysis treatment and documents in the patient medical record, adjusts plan as indicated and notifies team as needed.
• Assesses, collaborates, and documents patient/family’s learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education.
• Directs and provides, with direct and ancillary staff, safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource for health care team, participates in staff training and orientation.
• Ensures correct lab collection, processing and shipping procedures and reschedules missed collections.
• Updates nursing assessment and care plan with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Informs patient about transplant and treatment modality options.
