Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse to join the Outpatient CAP program. The RN CAP 1 will coordinate and deliver clinically competent care for an assigned patient group, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation during hemodialysis treatments.

Under supervision, you will collect patient data, adjust care plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state nursing licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet practice requirements in the state employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing data collection and analysis of patient data pre – during – post hemodialysis treatment and documents in the patient record; adjusts treatment plan as indicated.
• Educates patients and family about learning needs and plan of care.
• Directs and provides safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with care staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource and assists in staff training and orientation.
• Ensures proper lab collection and handling; reschedules missed collections.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current state nursing licensure
