Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 designation. You will coordinate and provide clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis, under supervision.

As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease care team, you will perform nursing assessments, education, and care planning, administer medications, and participate in emergency response and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet state practice requirements where employed.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential nursing functions under supervision with guidance.
• Collect and analyze patient data during hemodialysis and document in medical record; adjust care plan as needed.
• Educate patients and families about learning needs.
• Direct and provide safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy with care team.
• Administer medications per prescriptions or approved algorithms.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Serve as a resource to the team and participate in staff training.
• Ensure correct lab collection, processing, and rescheduling of missed collections.
• Update nursing assessment and care plan with interdisciplinary team.
• Discuss transplant options with patients and treatment modality options.
• Complete CAP requirements to advance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
