Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry level Outpatient RN CAP 1 to join the Clinical Advancement Program. You will perform patient assessments, plan and implement care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with nurses, technicians and physicians to ensure quality dialysis services.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, active state RN licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and likely limited experience in nephrology or hemodialysis.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Entry level RN with less than 2 years nephrology nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs data collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and documents in the medical record.
• Provides patient and family education on learning needs.
• Directs and collaborates with staff to deliver safe and effective hemodialysis therapy.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents justification/effectiveness.
• Assists with emergency response measures as needed.
• Serves as a resource and participates in staff training/orientation.
• Ensures proper laboratory collection and processing and reschedules missed collections.
