Job summary

Providence Medical Group is seeking a Coder II to conduct coding audits and reviews for outpatient services, ensuring accurate ICD-9/ICD-10 and HCC coding aligned with reimbursement rules. You will work with clinicians to improve documentation and coding quality.

The role emphasizes coaching, timely feedback, and cross-functional communication in a fast-paced environment. Certifications from AAPC or AHIMA and 3 years of outpatient coding experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• National Certification from AAPC upon hire or AHIMA certification upon hire.
• 3 years recent outpatient medical coding experience.
• Experience coaching and training physicians.
• Experience with EMR, preferably Epic.
• Proven ability to identify and resolve issues impacting documentation outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform coding audits and review outpatient provider services for compliance and optimization.
• Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and support with code entry, documentation, ICD-9/ICD-10, and HCC coding.
