Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine seeks an Outpatient Coding Auditor to review records, confer with physicians, and audit CPT/APC payments. You will identify coding discrepancies and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

The role requires at least 3 years of outpatient coding/auditing, strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, EPIC and 3M 360 Encompass, and excellent communication. CCS preferred. This position supports education and policy enforcement across departments.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of outpatient coding/auditing in an acute care hospital.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM and outpatient regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to educate and advise staff on regulatory changes and billing issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous outpatient coding audits and review records for accuracy.
• Confer with physicians and staff to capture complete documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform quality and CPT/APC payment reviews and provide actionable feedback.
• Assist in developing and enforcing outpatient coding policies and training programs.
