Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPC outpatient coding experience.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC/CCS-P certification required or preferred depending on role.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPC, and modifiers for accurate APC assignment.
• Abstract coded data into the coding system with relevant details (physician, dates, weights).
• Apply official coding guidelines and clinic guidelines to outpatient records.
• Sequence codes for proper APC assignment and conduct coding education updates.
• Participate in training on ICD-10-CM and CPT updates and provider education.
• Respond to questions from providers and other departments in a timely manner.
