Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking an Outpatient Coder Auditor to review documentation from outpatient visits, ensuring accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding and proper documentation support. The auditor finalizes coding, abstracts the medical record, and participates in chart review projects as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a CCS, has hospital coding experience, and can use encoder software effectively. This role requires strong attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Medical graduate, PA or Nursing graduate.
• CCS is required.
• Familiar with Hospital and Professional Coding, Infusion Injection Coding.
• Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, APCs.

Responsibilities

• The Outpatient Coder Auditor reviews and analyzes documentation to ensure accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient visits.
• Finalizes coding and abstraction of the medical record with ICD-10/PCS, CPT and HCPCS when supported by clinical documentation.
• Participates in chart review projects and performs other duties as needed.
