Job summary

AdventHealth Corporate is seeking a Coder Analyst I to code ER and outpatient records using ICD-10-CM and CPT, abstract accounts, and ensure compliance with Medical Necessity requirements. The role involves collaborating with the Coding Management Team to resolve coding issues and maintain accuracy.

The successful candidate will demonstrate foundational coding knowledge, familiarity with guidelines, and proficiency in Cerner and 3M Encoder.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of medical coding principles and practices.
• Familiarity with official coding guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Proficient with EMR and Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC) systems.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes using CAC tools.
• Abstract patient accounts and finalize abstracts in Cerner.
• Review medical necessity in outpatient records.
• Communicate coding issues to Coding Management Team.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards.
