Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to join our Florida coding team. You will assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for ER and outpatient visits, ensuring accuracy and timely discharge coding.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of ER/outpatient coding, RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification, and proficiency with Epic or CAC systems. Collaboration with departments and adherence to guidelines are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and completion of a medical coding cert program or HIM program.
• Minimum of 3 years of ER/outpatient coding experience.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required; one certification.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes per UHDDS and guidelines.
• Maintain 96%+ accuracy and meet productivity benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Coding team to finish coding within two days of discharge.
• Communicate coding issues that may affect claims processing or compliance.
