Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to join our team in Florida. The position focuses on outpatient coding for ER and ancillary services, ensuring accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a medical coding certificate or 2-year HIM program, and certification (RHIA/RHIT/CCS). Proficiency in Epic and Cerner is desired, with strong documentation review skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a medical coding certificate or 2-year HIM program.
• Must pass outpatient coding assessment as part of the interview process.
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CPC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes per UHDDS rules and coding guidelines.
• Maintain 96% or higher accuracy and meet productivity benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Coding team to finalize charges within two days of discharge.
• Communicate coding-related issues impacting claims processing or compliance.
• Enter coding data across multiple facilities within set timeframes.
