Kootenai Heart Clinics - Post Falls is seeking a detail-oriented Health Unit Coordinator to coordinate scheduling for patients and procedures, manage referrals and pre-authorizations, and ensure insurance documentation is accurate in outpatient settings.

You will serve as the clinic's communication hub, handling patient demographics, coordinating care activities, and supporting leadership with reports, invoices, and expense tracking.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years' experience in health unit coordination, administrative support, scheduling, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, confidentiality, HIPAA and electronic health record systems preferred.

Responsabilités

• Complies with all Kootenai Health confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
• Functions as the communication center for the unit/clinic regarding patient care, location, and activities; provide information and direction as needed.
• May enter orders, procedures, labs, and tests for outpatient care.
• Ensures patient demographics and insurance information is maintained in scheduling systems.
• Communicates basic financial policies regarding insurance, collects copays, deductibles, and self-pay payments.
• Obtains referrals and pre-authorizations as required and processes charges.
• Generates reports, handles multiple projects, and prepares and monitors invoices and expense reports.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned.
