Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Asheville, NC seeks a Groundsperson to perform field vegetation management and basic ground work on utility sites. The role emphasizes safety, physical endurance, and teamwork on outdoor projects with opportunity for overtime and benefits.

You will clear brush, operate hand tools and small equipment, assist with storm restoration, and support truck operations while maintaining PPE and following company procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or education equivalent preferred.
• Experience in landscaping, construction, or outdoor work preferred.
• Must be able to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce safety rules.
• Clear debris and brush from job sites.
• Operate hand tools and gas-powered saws to cut brush and trees.
• Load and unload trucks with logs and debris; feed brush into brush chipper.
• Set up road signs and flag traffic to protect workers.
• Drive truck or operate other equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Travel for storm restoration work as needed.
