Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to clear brush and trees, assist with site cleanup, and safely operate pruning tools as directed. The role requires working outdoors in varying weather, following safety rules, and possessing a valid driver’s license if driving.

Essential tasks include loading trucks, directing traffic with signs, and performing light maintenance on equipment. Prior landscaping or outdoor trade experience is preferred; background check and drug screen may be required.

Qualifications

• Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs, use saws and pruners.
• Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR (as required).
• Must wear necessary PPE and have a valid Driver's License if driving.
• Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Clear brush and trees as directed and perform site clean-up.
• Operate hand lines, pruners, pole saws, and chain saws to clear brush and trees.
• Load/unload trucks with logs, brush and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic to protect workers and the public.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment and report major repairs.
• Follow safety practices and enforce rules on every job site.
