Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson for full-time work in North Carolina. You will perform field tasks to maintain safe, efficient work zones and support vegetation management operations across sites.

Responsibilities include operating trucks and chatter, handling brush and debris, and ensuring safety through proper flagging and staging. A valid license and willingness to work overtime are required; CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
• Background check and drug screen required as part of the process.
• Must meet I-9 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work from the ground to keep work area clear of debris using handsaws, pole saws and pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gasoline-powered equipment to cut brush and trees.
• Define staging areas.
• Setting up and breaking down material, tools, and equipment as required.
• Prepare and feed brush into woodchipper.
• Loading and unloading trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
• Operate various trucks and equipment as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment; keep equipment neat and report major repairs.
• Tying knots, rope breaks, and speed lines according to industry standard.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards; flag traffic when needed.
• Able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
