Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Groundsperson to support field crews from the ground. You will clear brush, assist with trimming and debris removal, load materials, and help maintain job sites in a safe and efficient manner.

The role emphasizes outdoor work in varied weather, operating hand tools and basic equipment, and following safety procedures. Prior experience in vegetation management or related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs and operate saws in uneven terrain.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must have and maintain a Driver’s License if hired for a driving position.
• Must be able to communicate with others and travel for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and keep work areas clear of debris.
• Clear undergrowth from right-of-way with saws and pruners.
• Load/unload trucks with logs and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up/break down road signs; flag traffic for safety.
• Operate trucks and equipment; perform basic maintenance.
• Support storm restoration work as needed.
