Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. in West Virginia seeks a Field Data Technician to collect technical data from electric utility and telecom facilities in outdoor settings, often hiking between poles and spans.

Training will be provided for all required duties, with routine overnight travel 1–2 weeks at a time and weekends at home. Compensation starts at $24.50/hour plus potential hourly bonuses, hotel allowances, and additional pay increases or reimbursements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution is a plus.
• Able to read GPS maps and follow process specifications in a high‑pace environment.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data in outdoor environments to support engineering and design.
• Submit organized data, maps, notes, and images for each project.
• Operate and maintain tablet, camera, measuring tools and PPE.
• Represent Osmose professionally in the field and coordinate with project teams.
• Work safely and independently with daily communication to management.
