Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. in Virginia is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect data on electric utility and telecom facilities. This outdoor role involves hiking between utility poles to gather measurements and photos for outside plant engineering and fiber-optic construction projects.

Osmose will train the ideal candidate. The position requires routine overnight travel 1–2 weeks at a time, with weekends home and occasional longer assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Ability to hike outdoors in all weather and perform physically demanding data collection.
• Willing to travel 1–2 weeks at a time for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Work outdoors collecting field data supporting engineering and design of fiber optic facilities.
• Submit organized data including maps, field notes, and images.
• Operate and maintain field equipment such as tablet, cameras, and measuring tools.
• Represent Osmose professionally with project management teams.
• Communicate daily with the project management team.
