Job summary

S&ME's Nashville construction services team is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to perform field and lab testing of concrete, soils and asphalt on projects including the KY Locke assignment in Paducah, KY. You will receive hands-on training and opportunities to advance within a leading geotechnical and construction materials testing firm.

This full-time role involves outdoor work at active construction sites, occasional travel, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred for advanced levels.
• Active Industry certifications such as American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician and/or International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector, Reinforced Concrete and Masonry
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic math proficiency, including understanding of measurements and units of weight
• You have a valid U.S. driver’s license or an International Driving Permit (IDP) valid for driving in the United States, with an acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Field and laboratory testing on construction materials like concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Sample collection and preparation for analysis.
• Interpreting test results and reporting findings.
• Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specifications and safety guidelines
