Job summary

S&ME is seeking Construction Materials Laboratory Technicians in Nashville, TN to support the KY Locke project in Paducah, KY. Entry-level to experienced, full-time, you will test soils, concrete, and asphalt, document results, and maintain lab equipment while ensuring standards compliance.

You have a high school diploma/GED, 0-5+ years in materials testing, strong math and English communication, and a valid U.S. driver’s license; background/drug checks may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0-5+ years in construction materials testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt.
• Effective math skills with understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units.
• Effective communication in English (spoken, reading, writing).
• Valid U.S. driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Willing to complete background check, driving record check, and drug screen.
• Active ACI or ICC certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test and document results on construction materials with accuracy and thoroughness.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration.
• Assist with equipment calibrations and ensure compliance with standards.
• Operate field and lab activities for various projects as needed.
