Job summary

S&ME, Inc. is hiring a Construction Materials Engineering Technician for outdoor fieldwork and lab testing across projects in Nashville, TN. You will learn through hands-on training, perform tests on concrete, soils, and asphalt, and support project teams with data-driven reports.

Travel to support the KY Locke project in Paducah, KY is required, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and quality. Strong certifications help, but all levels are welcome.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred for advanced levels.
• Active industry certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I and ICC Special Inspector are strongly preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with acceptable driving record; ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing on concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Collect and prepare samples for analysis and report results.
• Interpret test data and prepare detailed reports for project teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specifications and safety guidelines.
