Job summary

Pearce Services is seeking an OSP Field Engineer in the Kenosha, WI area. You will perform on-site validation of fiber network layouts, collect detailed field data, and support engineering teams with accurate notes and measurements.

The role requires 3+ years in telecom/construction, a high school diploma, and proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD, and MS Office. Travel and outdoor work are common, with a safety-focused, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fiber-optic/telecommunications/construction industry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of outside plant activities and Make-ready issues.
• Ability to read as-built prints and identify conflicts with OSP facilities.
• Familiar with GIS, ESRI, and shapefile functionality.

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document detailed facilities information.
• Capture measurements of attachment heights and distances.
• Identify power/communication facilities on poles.
• Record bonding, grounding, and anchor information.
• Deliver field notes and photos to engineering team.
• Identify obstructions and propose mitigations.
• Read digital GIS maps and layout drawings.
• Use tools like measuring wheels, GPS, and rangefinder.
• Work with devices like iPad and laptop.
