Pearce Services is seeking an OSP Field Engineer in the Chicago area. You will gather telecommunications field data, validate fiber network layouts, and support engineering with precise site measurements and documentation.

The role requires strong knowledge of OSP construction, GIS mapping, and the ability to travel extensively to project sites across North America. A valid license and safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fiber-optic/telecommunications/construction industry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of outside plant activities (Fiber Cable Design, Pole Line Construction, Conduit System design) and Make-ready issues.
• Ability to read as-built prints and identify conflicts with existing facilities.
• Familiar with GIS (ESRI) and shapefile functionality.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass drug screen and background check.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Identify, photograph, and document details of facilities (cables, poles, terminals, handholes, etc.).
• Capture measurements of attachment heights, spans, and distances to centerlines and property lines.
• Identify power/communication facilities and ownership on utility poles.
• Record bonding, grounding, guying, and anchor information.
• Deliver detailed field notes and photos to engineering team.
