Job summary

Pearce, a leading provider of asset management and engineering services for mission-critical infrastructure, is seeking an OSP Field Engineer. The role focuses on collecting telecommunications data from job sites and validating fiber network designs, including aerial, buried, and underground routes.

Extensive on-site and travel involvement is required. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fiber/telecom, GIS familiarity, and strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fiber/telecommunications/telecom construction.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of outside plant design and make-ready issues.
• Ability to read as-built prints and identify conflicts with existing facilities.
• Familiar with GIS and ESRI, and shapefile functionality.
• Able to identify utilities, conflicts, and regulatory considerations (RUS, NESC, GO95, NEC).
• Experience with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document facilities including cables, poles, handholes, and other external plant infrastructure.
• Measure attachment heights, spans, and distances to centerlines and property lines.
• Identify power and communication facilities on utility poles.
• Record bonding, grounding, and anchor information; deliver field notes and photos to engineers.
• Identify obstructions to fiber placement and propose mitigations.
• Read GIS maps and layout drawings; work with GIS data.
