Zusammenfassung

Pearce is seeking a Field Engineer with 3+ years in fiber-optic/telecommunications to perform on-site data collection, measurements, and documentation of OSP facilities. You will work with GIS data, maps, and as-built prints while coordinating with engineering teams.

Travel is extensive and you may lead junior staff at times; a valid driver’s license and the ability to work in varied environments are required. Pearce offers growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of experience in the fiber-optic/telecommunications field.
• Knowledge of outside plant activities and Make-Ready issues.
• Ability to read as-built prints and identify conflicts with existing facilities.
• Familiar with GIS, ESRI, and shapefile functionality.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Aufgaben

• Identify, photograph, and document detailed information of required facilities, including cables, poles, terminals, pedestals, handholes, and other OSP infrastructure.
• Capture accurate measurements of attachment heights, span distances, and distances to property lines and centerlines.
• Identify power and communication facilities and ownership on utility poles.
• Record bonding, grounding, guying, and anchor information.
• Deliver detailed field notes and photographs to the engineering team.
• Identify relevant obstructions to fiber placement and propose mitigation strategies.
• Understand OSP construction techniques.
• Read and understand GIS maps, conduit records, and layout drawings.
• Use tools such as measuring wheels, height sticks, pull finder, GPS devices, MH/HH hooks, and laser rangefinder.
• Operate digital devices like iPad, iPhone, laptop, file sharing, and email.
