Job summary

Pearce is a leading technology-enabled provider of asset management solutions for mission-critical electromechanical infrastructure. The OSP Field Engineer validates fiber network designs on-site, measuring and documenting facilities, poles, and routes, and coordinating with engineering teams to resolve conflicts and ensure accurate GIS records.

The role requires 3+ years in fiber/telecom construction, a high school diploma or equivalent, and proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of outside plant activities and Make-ready issues
• Ability to read as-build prints and identify conflicts with existing facilities
• Familiar with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ESRI, and shapefile functionality
• Able to identify different utilities and regulatory standards (RUS, NESC, GO95, NEC)

Responsibilities

• Identify, photograph, and document detailed information of required facilities
• Capture accurate measurements of attachment heights and distances
• Identify power and communication facilities and ownership on utility poles
• Record bonding, grounding, guying, and anchor information
• Deliver detailed field notes and photographs to the engineering team
• Identify obstructions to fiber placement and propose mitigation strategies
