Job summary

Ziply Fiber is seeking a Manager, Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering to lead an OSP team and ensure projects meet design, quality, and budget goals. You will collaborate across departments and with vendors to drive on-time delivery and compliant execution across our fiber network.

The role requires 8+ years in OSP, leadership capability, and strong knowledge of permitting processes. A valid driver’s license and drug screen are required as part of pre-employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 8+ years of outside plant (OSP) experience, including quoting, permitting and pre-construction activities.
• Developed leadership skills with ability to mentor and lead others.
• Experience using fiber optic network documentation tools.
• Advanced understanding of permitting processes for railroad, DOT, cities, counties, and pole owners.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.
• Pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead an Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering team and provide leadership through coaching and performance management.
• Oversee staffing, schedules, and compliance for OSP engineering and construction activities.
• Ensure engineering work orders meet standards, timelines, and budget; release to Construction to meet dates.
• Manage engineering process and documentation through project completion.
• Identify permitting authorities and oversee permit applications.
• Develop, coordinate, and execute project schedules with contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with state/local entities and utilities; verify contractor invoices for accuracy.
